Former Black Leopards and Marumo Gallants head coach Dylan Kerr believes he can win the league for Kaizer Chiefs if he gets appointed.
The 58-year-old English tactician has coached five different Premier Soccer League (PSL) teams, winning the Nedbank Cup with Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila in 2021.
After that, he coached Moroka Swallows before his two-year stint with Gallants, during which he guided them to the CAF Confederation Cup semi-final.
Speaking on SoccerBeat, the former PSL coach felt he was always ready to coach one of the big teams but the offer never came.
Kerr positive he could win the league with Kaizer Chiefs
“If I could go to Chiefs, I’d swim the outland antique, I’d swim down, you know, over the coast of the Mediterranean, walk from the tip of North Africa, right into Kaizer Motaung’s house and say, ‘listen, if you want the league, I can do it’.
“If you look at the players that are playing for Chiefs, Pirates, Sundowns, Stellenbosch and all the so-called big teams in the last two to three years, I would say 20 are my players, some from Black Leopards, TTM, Swallows and Marumo Gallants
Asked if he would win the league with the current Kaizer Chiefs squad, Kerr backed himself.
“Yeah, 100% because of how I get them to play for me. If you go back to the knockout cup when in the time of COVID and I had 28 players, I just got them for two weeks, and then we played in Durban and then in Joburg for the final. It’s all about getting players to run and play for you,” he said.
