EX-BUCS DEFENDER IN BAFANA BAFANA MIX
Mbekezeli Mbokazi (Chicago Fire, USA) and Bongokuhle Hlongwane (Minnesota United, USA) are two names well known by Orlando Pirates supporters.
Mbokazi is one of the more recent players to have leaft Mayfair. He joined Chicago Fire earlier this year after the conclusion of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
While a deal was agreed in principle before then, he could only join the USA-based club after completing his national duty with Bafana Bafana at AFCON 2025.

The ex-Orlando Pirates defender is flourishing in the MLS and is also a regular part of the Bafana Bafana squad.
Therefore, he is very likely to be in coach Hugo Broos’ final squad for FIFA World Cup 2026.
