Former Kaizer Chiefs winger Junior Khanye has praised the character of Orlando Pirates winger Relebohile Mofokeng.
The 21-year-old winger scored the Buccaneers’ winner against Marumo Gallants on Saturday in the Carling Knockout Cup final.
Khanye, who predicted Pirates to lose the final, gave credit to Adbeslam Ouaddou’s men for their fight despite a tough match.
“Let me not be jealous, a round of applause for Orlando Pirates, this is not pap and vleis because one Ouaddou stepped into the big shoes of Jose Riveiro,” he told iDiski TV.

“And he has been able to get the best out of other players. I know I said Marumo would win, but I expected the game to go to extra time.”
The former Chiefs star said it was time for Mofokeng to go to Europe after another inspired performance.
“What we should compliment Pirates on is that even if you don’t play well, sometimes you win games without playing well. You need character.
“You need players who will raise their hands like Rele. Well done to the boy; if it were someone else, they would probably not have been able to handle this.
“The boy waited for his time and he stood out. I think big things are coming for the boy, maybe he’ll go to Spain,” Khanye concluded.
Since his return from injury last month, Mofokeng has provided two assists and scored once. The 21-year-old has been linked to a move away from the club for almost a year now, but nothing has materialised. With the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) just weeks away, it might be his biggest stage to shine.
In the three seasons he’s been at Pirates, Mofokeng has won five trophies with the Soweto giants, scoring in three finals.
