Eric Tinkler gives ‘tips’ on how to beat Kaizer Chiefs this season

Posted on September 17, 2025

Sekhukhune United head coach Eric Tinkler has explained how his side defeated Kaizer Chiefs on Tuesday evening.

Babina Noko claimed a 3-1 win over Amakhosi at the FNB Stadium to move back to the top of the log. The win for Tinkler’s men sees them on 16 points from a possible 18 and they are one of the two teams unbeaten in the Betway Premiership.

I think first and foremost the planning, you know, leading up to the game, analysing Chiefs, and we know that so far this season they’ve actually been a very, very good team, a difficult team to beat,” Tinkler said in his post-match reaction.

“I think they are a rejuvenated team, and they are playing a lot better football than they did in previous seasons, so we knew this game was going to be extremely tough.”

“Everything we’ve done in training came out on the pitch today. Chiefs like to play this very, very high line, and because of that high line, they can be punished,” Tinkler added.

Eric Tinkler’s men have already beaten both Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates in the league, and a few more wins, they could be real title contenders. In the league, Sekhukhune has impressed; however, their subpar performance in the MTN8 semi-finals indicated that Babina Noko can be beaten
