Orlando Pirates have offloaded a total of eight players to date during the ongoing transfer window, making them one of the busiest sides in terms of revamping their squad.

FULL LIST OF DEPARTED ORLANDO PIRATES PLAYERS

  • Sinoxolo Kwayiba (Chippa United)
  • Monnapule Saleng (Mamelodi Sundowns)
  • Tshegofatso Mabasa (Stellenbosch FC, loan)
  • Sifiso Luthuli (Magesi FC, loan)
  • Siyabonga Ndlozi (Magesi FC, loan)
  • Sonwabo Khumalo (Midlands Wanderers, loan)
  • Lungelo Dondolo (Midlands Wanderers, loan)
  • Mbekezeli Mbokazi (Chicago Fire)

Defender Mbekezeli Mbokazi joined MLS outfit Chicago Fire where he will take on the likes of Lionel Messi.

Kwayiba became the first Orlando Pirates player to leave to join a PSL rival when he returned to his former club, Chippa United.

Thereafter, Saleng and Mabasa, also packed their bags.

Saleng shocked the South African football fraternity when he joined Orlando Pirates’ bitter PSL rivals, Mamelodi Sundowns.

Then, Bafana Bafana striker Mabasa joined ex-Kaizer Chiefs coach Gavin Hunt at Stellenbosch FC on loan.

FOUR ORLANDO PIRATES PRODUCTS LEAVE

Meanwhile, another four Orlando Pirates products have also left to join other sides within the PSL’s systems.

Luthuli and Ndlozi have both been loaned out to Magesi FC.

Furthermore, talented Bucs DDC stars, Khumalo and Dondolo have been loaned out to Midlands Wanderers.

MORE BUCS EXITS LOOMING?

Orlando Pirates may not be done with their departures, with fan-favourite Relebohile Mofokeng and Bafana Bafana striker Evidence Makgopa both linked with possible departures out of Mayfair.

Mofokeng has suitors lined up from all over the world.

Al-Ettifaq, Maccabi Haifa, Maccabi Tel Aviv, Minnesota United and Russian side FC Akron have all expressed interest in the skilful attacker.

However, all of these sides also expressed interest last season with Orlando Pirates waving away potential interest.

With Mofokeng openly expressing his willingness to play abroad, it will be interesting to see who makes an offer for him – and where he ends up next season.

Finally, Makgopa’s agent has not dismissed the possibility of his client leaving to play abroad. This comes following interest from English Championship side, Bristol City, among others.
