Edition 236 – Kabini & AFCON

Posted on December 24, 2025

The 236th edition of iDiski Times is out now — packed with AFCON features, exclusive interviews, and powerful voices from across the football world.

Ahead of the AFCON, Matshelane Mamabolo caught up with the Class of 1996 and heard from Andre Arendse and Mark Williams about what to expect 30 years after they lifted the trophy, and we look back at Bafana Bafana’s history at the AFCON, the highs and the lows.

Lorenz Köhler spoke with another of Bafana’s new young stars, Samukele Kabini, who moved to Eliteserien club Molde FK earlier this year.

Bafana will face Angola, Egypt and Zimbabwe in the AFCON Group Stages, and we take a closer look at the squads that Hugo Broos’ men will face.

Lethabo Kganyago, meanwhile, spoke to the new coach of Zimbabwe, Marian ‘Mario’ Marinica, who Bafana will face in their third Group B game.

With this being the last edition for 2025, RobDelportlooks back at the year, examining how teams have fared, which players stood out, and other highlights.

All that, plus the latest whispers from the Rumour Mill and our not-to-be-missed coaching column by Moritz Kossmann.
