Mamelodi Sundowns are aiming to keep up with early pacesetters Orlando Pirates while Kaizer Chiefs seek to end their winless run of four matches in this weekend’s DStv Diski Challenge outings.
TS Galaxy have a tough task this coming weekend when they face on-form Sundowns. Following two consecutive defeats, the Rockets have one thing in mind which is to turn the tables and get three points. On the other hand, Sundowns sees this as an opportunity to keep pace with Pirates who are looking to pull away. Downs have three consecutive wins aiming to make it four with Sundowns’ Oarabile Booysen the key man for this fixture as he is in fine form.
Polokwane City then face Pirates. Rise and Shine have had a lukewarm season after collecting eight points in seven games and are desperate to bounce back after suffering a 3-0 defeat last weekend at the hands of Siwelele FC. “Points machine” Pirates seems to be running away making it difficult for any other team to catch them after winning six matches in a row and the only side yet to taste a defeat in the DStv Diski Challenge this season.
Sunday, dark horses Siwelele FC and stubborn Sekhukhune United will lock horns in a clash that is expected to be well balanced. Siwelele currently sit in fourth place while Babina Noko are in 10th position.
Winless in five matches and behind by 10 points to league leaders, Chiefs’ title defense is already in shambles after a poor run of results. Amakhosi lost two consecutive matches before playing to three draws in a row. With Magesi FC in front of them, Chiefs have a tough task as Dikwena Tsa Meetsi have won two consecutive matches for the first time since participating in this league.
