Mamelodi Sundowns have offloaded a plethora of stars with Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates acting fast.

Mamelodi Sundowns have released 12 players.

Kaizer Chiefs have signed two of them. Meanwhile, Orlando Pirates have signed one.

CHIEFS WRAP UP SECOND SUNDOWNS SIGNING

Chiefs have signed two players from Mamelodi Sundowns.

Initially, they signed ex-Sundowns striker, Etiosa Ighodara. Thereafter, they signed Lebohang Maboe from the Brazilians.

Meaning, Amakhosi has secured two former Masandawana stars. They join another ex-Sundowns player, Gaston Sirino at Chiefs.

PIRATES SIGN MBULE

Pirates signed Sipho Mbule from Mamelodi Sundowns early on in the current PSL transfer window.

So, the 27-year-old midfielder became Pirates’ first signing.

He has quickly turned into a Bucs fan-favourite during his short time at Mayfair. He has formed a solid midfield partnership with Sihle Ndudli, who was signed from PSL rivals, Stellenbosch FC.

To date, Mbule is the only outbound player that Pirates have signed.

SUNDOWNS RELEASE 12 PLAYERS

Sundowns have released 12 players.

Rivaldo Coetzee, Sipho Mbule (Orlando Pirates), Lucas Suarez, Lebohang Maboe (Kaizer Chiefs), Sifiso Ngobeni, Thabang Sibanyoni, Sanele Tshabalala, Kobamelo Kodisang (AVS Futebol SAD), Rushine De Reuck (Simba SC), Thembinkosi Lorch (Wydad Casablanca), Matias Esquivel (AE Kifisia) and Neo Maema have all been released.

Most of the departed Sundowns stars have found a new club. However, Coetzee, Suarez, Ngobeni, Sibanyoni, Tshabalala and Maema are all currently free agents.

Interestingly, Amakhosi are keeping a close eye on Maema.

As reported on The South African, the R24-million Bafana Bafana captain is on Chiefs radar.
