Cape Town City midfielder Keagan Dolly has credited his former coach Pitso Mosimane for the success at former club Mamelodi Sundowns.
Dolly spent three seasons at Chloorkop and won several titles, including league honours and the CAF Champions League under Mosimane.
He spoke to iDiski Times Editor Rob Delport in edition 234 of the newspaper where he mentioned how the former Al Ahly coach transformed players who had been previously sent out on loan and turned them into winners while also building a unit.
“I was away, Percy [Tau] was away,” Dolly told iDiski Times.
“Samuel Julies was there, who started young. Themba Zwane, as well, he spent his time away. So a lot of us had to go away to show that we are good enough to be a part of that team.
“But also, we had a different coach who could turn the team into winners, and he made us into a unit, which is coach Pitso. You know, he’s a serial winner. He wants to win. And that rubbed off on all of us.
“It wasn’t about the age or your name; it was about who was doing the job. And you could see that 2016 team, we were just ruthless. We won all our games.”
