Dilemma At Leopards Continues – iDiski Times

Posted on February 18, 2026

The dilemma at Black Leopards continues after Brandon Truter’s deal fell through following Mabhuti Khenyeza’s exit with Duncan Lechesa and Sundra Govender set to take over.

The struggle on the field for Leopards might be minor compared to the drama that is happening behind the scenes as Lidoda Duvha approached Khenyeza asking him to be an assistant coach as they were in agreement with Truter to take over.

Brakkies already traveled to Limpopo with few members that were expected to make up his technical team including former Chippa United goalkeeper coach Mthunzi Ngcingane.

Khenyeza refused to take up the assistant coach role and decided to leave the club, and Brakkies also made a u-turn which has left Leopards without a head coach and the need to act immediately.

The club management decided to go for Govender and Lechesa who were both recently at Marumo Gallants with the duo been approached to take over as co-coaches until end of the season. The mandate is that they should save the club from being relegated.

Leopards currently sit bottom of the Motsepe Foundation Championship with 12 points after 17 games; they remain five points behind safety with a game in hand.

Their next encounter is against Hungry Lions at home which could be the new chapter of Lechesa and Govender.
