Orlando Pirates will face ABC Motsepe League Championship outfit Casric Stars at Orlando Amstel Arena in the Round of 16 of the Nedbank Cup this weekend.

Having lost 2-1 to Mamelodi Sundowns midweek, the Buccaneers will be looking for a swift response on Saturday.

Pirates defeated ABC Motsepe League outfit Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila to reach the last 16. They play a stronger side compared TTM.

Stars return to the Last 16 after failing to make it past the preliminary rounds in the two previous seasons. They will be eager to improve on the finish achieved by their Class of 2023, who advanced beyond the opening round before falling to another Soweto Giant in Kaizer Chiefs.

Currently one of the in-form sides in the Championship, they head to Orlando chasing a famous upset against their hosts’ whose mission will be to emerge on the Nedbank Cup winners’ podium for the third time in four seasons.

When are Pirates playing Casric in the Nedbank Cup?

The Round of 16 fixtures are scheduled between Pirates and Stars takes place at the Orlando Amstel Arena on Saturday (21 February). Kick off is scheduled for 18:00 and the match will be televised on SuperSport 3.

The Buccaneers are looking to reach their fourth Nedbank Cup final in a row, having won two of the three finals.

Playing at home, Pirates are favourites to win the match, but a midweek defeat to Downs might have affected their confidence which could give Casric Stars a chance.
