Cape Town City have announced the signing of Dutch striker Simon van Duivenbooden from Vitesse.
The 23-year-old holds both Netherlands and South African citizenship which makes him eligible to play for Bafana Bafana by virtue of being born to a South African father and Dutch mother.
Last year, Duivenbooden made into one of head coach Hugo Broos’ preliminary squads though he’s yet to get the nod and his move to Mzansi could offer the Belgian tactician a chance to have a closer look at the towering forward.
The Citizens, who look set to campaign in the Motsepe Foundation Championship next season, made the announcement on Friday morning.
