CT City Climb Up, Baroka Out Of Relegation Zone

Cape Town City moved up the league table after a convincing win against Pretoria University, while Baroka FC’s win in Limpopo derby moved them out of the relegation zone.

CT City extended their unbeaten run to four matches after a comfortable win against Pretoria University 3-0. Emile Witbooi once again had a stellar game providing an assist to Therlo Moosa. Defender Njabulo Ngcobo and an own goal handed City maximum points.

Gomora United ended their seven-match winless run, which included five consecutive draws. They defeated Highbury FC 1-0. Amajuba now lost three matches in a row and out of the top four.

Clinton Larsen’s Venda FC suffered a 3-1 defeat against Kruger United. Ebrahim Seedat scored the opening goal for United before Deolin Mekoa equalized just before half-time. Mancoba Zwane scored the second goal for United with less than 10 minutes remaining before an own goal sealed their victory inside 92nd minute. Kruger United is on five-match winning streak.

Black Leopards lost the second consecutive Limpopo derby this time to Baroka FC. Bethuel Muzeu opened the scoring in the 46th minute. David Mathipi immediately equalized for Baroka, but Siyabonga Vilani put Baroka into the lead from the penalty spot. Clyde Combi put the nail in the coffin in the 74th minute to make it 3-1. Baroka moved out of relegation zone, while Leopards dropped to the relegation zone.
