Chiefs Trio Ruled Out Of Crucial Kabuscorp Clash

Posted on September 27, 2025

Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach Cedric Kaze has confirmed Khanyisa Mayo was unable to be registered, and two players have been ruled out due to injury ahead of their crucial CAF Confederation Cup tie against Kabuscorp on Saturday.

Chiefs take on the Girabola side in the second leg 1st round preliminary qualifier in a must-win clash as they look to overturn a 1-0 defeat suffered in Angola last week.

Mayo, who netted a debut goal in their mid-week 1-1 draw against Marumo Gallants at FNB Stadium, will not be in the squad at the same venue this weekend due to arriving after the qualifying registration period.

Paseka Mako and Siphesihle Ndlovu also suffered injuries, which Kaze stated, they won’t be recovered in time for the encounter tomorrow that kicks off at 15h00.

“After the last game against Marumo, unfortunately, Mayo can’t feature, he’s not registered yet, the deadline passed before he arrived,” Kaze confirmed.

“As well tomorrow we will be without Paseka Mako and Ndlovu.. He suffered an injury in the last game.”
