Chiefs Make Surprise CAFCC Announcement

Posted on October 17, 2025

Kaizer Chiefs have announced there is current no confirmed broadcast of their CAF Confederation Cup clash at AS Simba.

Chiefs will face the DRC side in the first leg of their CAFCC second preliminary round clash in Lubumbashi on Saturday.

The game will be played at the TP Mazembe Stadium in the Southern City of Lubumbashi on Saturday, 18 October, with kickoff scheduled for 15:00.

On Friday, Chiefs confirmed via a brief update that the match will not be broadcast live. “Please note there is no confirmed TV or YouTube broadcast for Saturday’s match,” the club stated.

This will be Amakhosi’s second meeting with opposition from DRC in continental competition, having previously faced AS Vita in the 2014 CAF Champions League second round first-leg. Chiefs lost the game 3-0 but were eliminated 3-2 on aggregate, despite winning the second-leg 2-0.

Amakhosi will host their DRC opponents in the second clash on 26 October at the Dobsonville Stadium in Soweto, which will be the club’s first continental game at Dobsonville since April 2014, when they faced ASEC Mimosa in a CAF Confederation Cup play-off round first leg encounter.
