Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed that tickets for the upcoming Soweto Derby on 28 February have been sold out in record time.
The match is even more anticipated than previously, as both teams are currently in the title race, with Orlando Pirates sitting at the top of the log with 35 points, while Chiefs are third with 30.
Pirates, though, still face Marumo Gallants and Mamelodi Sundowns before the derby, while Amakhosi travel to Zamalek in the CAF Confederations Cup before hosting Stellenbosch FC.
There are huge expectations from both sides, which has led to a record sale, as tickets were sold out in the space of a day after going on sale on Monday.
“Tickets for the highly anticipated Soweto Derby between Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates at FNB Stadium on 28 February 2026 have officially sold out. Demand was overwhelming, with tickets snapped up in record time both online and at retail outlets,” Chiefs club stated.
“Fans can expect a thrilling encounter, given the strong performances of both teams in the league and Amakhosi’s impressive run in the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup.
“Supporters who secured tickets are strongly encouraged to arrive early at the stadium to enjoy the exciting activations and entertainment planned by Kaizer Chiefs and their sponsors. Early arrivals will also stand a chance to win fantastic prizes on the day.
“Those without tickets are urged to watch the match from home with family and friends. For safety reasons, supporters are advised not to gather near the stadium, as security will be on high alert.”
The match kicks off at 15:30 at FNB Stadium on 28 February.
