Chiefs make announcement on next league match

Posted on November 14, 2025

Kaizer Chiefs were expected to land in Polokwane only three days after flying back from North Africa.

With the CAF Confederation Cup clash against Egyptian side Al Masry falling into the same week, a decision has been made.

With long-distance travel and limited turnaround time, the scheduling gap became too tight to manage. The Premier Soccer League (PSL) and both clubs agreed that the best option was to shift the match.

“The match between Magesi FC and Kaizer Chiefs, originally set for 26 November 2025 at Seshego Stadium, has been postponed due to our CAF Confederation Cup schedule and related travel logistics,” Amakhosi announced.

“The PSL will advise on the new date,” the note concluded.

Kaizer Chiefs were drawn in Group D alongside Zamalek (Egypt), Al–Masry (Egypt) and Zesco United (Zambia).

Amakhosi open the business end with a tough away date in Port Said against Al Masry, then shift straight into a home showdown with Zamalek. From there, matchday three sends them to Ndola before their Zambian neighbours fly into OR Tambo for the return clash.

The last two hurdles bring Al Masry to Soweto, before Kaizer Chiefs wrap up the group stage in Cairo against Zamalek.
