Chiefs legend Khanye hits out at Orlando Pirates coach Ouaddou

Former Kaizer Chiefs ace Junior Khanye was left unimpressed with Orlando Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou.

This comes after the Bucs mentor took a ‘hurtful’ tactical decision during his side’s MTN8 semi-final victory over Mamelodi Sundowns.

The Buccaneers came out trumps from the penalty spot following a 2-2 on aggregate result over two legs.

Abdeslam Ouaddou’s tactical decision to substitute Pirates star Patrick Maswanganyi has come under fire.

‘Tito’ was replaced after just 38 minutes by Bandile Shandu in Saturday’s victory over Mamelodi Sundowns.

Downs took an early lead, prompting Ouaddou to replace Maswanganyi with Bandile Shandu. The decision paid off, with Orlando Pirates closing up the gaps in defense.

They went on to equalise in the 73rd minute through Kamogelo Sebelebele. Abdeslam Ouaddou’s side then earned the victory via a penalty shootout.

Junior Khanye however wasn’t too pleased with Tito’s early withdrawal.

“I think the Orlando Pirates coach made sacrifices in the first 20 minutes. None other than that tactical change from the coach though I don’t agree with what he did because psychologically that hurt Tito. I know he has won but to sacrifice a player that could have won the game for you playing to his strength I think it hurt Tito Maswanganyi,” Junior Khanye said as quoted by IDiski Times.
