Indications are that Soweto-based giants Kaizer Chiefs football club are in talks with one of their star players over a new deal to avoid losing him on a free next season.
Goalkeeper Bruce Bvuma has a contract running until June 2024 at the Naturena base side, but with limited game-time in the 2022/23 campaign he saw a move away from the club as a possibility for more game-time.
However, now with Itumeleng Khune signing a new one-year deal with Kaizer Chiefs which are believed to be his last season as a player at the club, Bvuma might still be in Chiefs’ long term plans.
It is now believed that Kaizer Chiefs football club and Bruce Bvuma have started talking regarding a new deal to keep him at the club beyond the expiration of his current deal he has with the club.
Khune and Bvuma will both be out of contract in June 2024 and with Khune retiring as a player at Chiefs there might be an opening for Bvuma to carry more responsibilities which means more game-time for him.
Since Chiefs only has Brandon Peterson and Bvuma as experienced goallies after Khune hangs his gloves, indications by sources are that Bruce will sign a new deal in the near future, hopefully after pre-season camp.
According to reports by more than one source talks are ongoing and an offer has been tabled.
Bruce Bvuma made eight DStv Premiership appearances in the 2021/22 campaign which was his best with the club’s senior team and last season that number halved to only four league appearances.
