Chiefs Held Again, Durban City Hammer AmaZulu

Posted on October 20, 2025

Kaizer Chiefs picked up their third straight DStv Diski Challenge stalemate after playing to a 2-2 draw against Marumo Gallants as Durban City hammered AmaZulu 4-0 in Sunday’s DStv Diksi Challenge ties.

Magesi FC narrowly saw off TS Galaxy 1-0 courtesy of a solitary strike in the 74th minute.

In the second fixture of the day, despite being reduced to 10 men with Thabang Mahlangu sent for an early shower as early as the 13th minute, Siwelele ran riot over Polokwane City with a 3-0 thumping. Sphesihle Jeza opened the scoring in the 31st minute before they doubled the lead in the 74th minute then completing the rout in the 83rd minute.

Durban City picked up the biggest result of the weekend as they made light work of AmaZulu with a 4-0 hammering in the KwaZulu-Natal Derby.

Chiefs on the other hand looked destined to returning to winning ways after rallying from a goal down but were left to rue their missed chances as Bahlabane Ba Ntwa equalised late on in the match.

Matala Makhubu opened the scoring for Gallants, but Donay Jansen levelled matters for Amakhosi. Goncalves Stephens put Chiefs 2-1 up, but Hlayiseko Mabasa had the last say which saw Chiefs now 10 points behind rivals and league leaders Orlando Pirates.
