Cardoso Targeting MTN8 Title – iDiski Times

Sekhukhune United defender Daniel Cardoso has admitted that winning the MTN8 is among his side’s targets for the season.

Babina Noko are in their fifth season in top flight, finishing in the top 8 twice, reaching one cup final in the 2022/23 season that also saw them taste continental football.

Last season, the Limpopo side were eliminated in the first round of the MTN8 tournament and this time around reached their first semi-final after beating TS Galaxy 3-2 in the quarter-finals, with Cardoso revealing they are targeting the trophy this term.

“I think going into the new season, we want to put our objectives in obviously and see where we can finish and what we can do,” Cardoso told iDiski Times.

“And I think our first step will be the MTN8. Obviously, last season, it was a bit of a mess up, we didn’t get past the first round. But I think this time, going forward, we definitely want to maybe contest for the title.

“You know, I think it will be good for the club and for individuals to win the MTN8. And I think that’s our main goal, and our first goal of the season is to win the MTN8. I mean it’s four games and you’ve won a trophy. I think it’s one of the easier trophies to win.”
