Mamelodi Sundowns coach Miguel Cardoso has revealed what he didn’t like about the fans during their match against AmaZulu at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.
Masandawana secured a 1–0 victory over AmaZulu in the Betway Premiership match, thanks to Marcelo Allende’s strike, to climb to the top of the table.
Heading into this match, Sundowns had lost 2–0 to TS Galaxy in the Nedbank Cup Round of 16, bowing out of the competition over the weekend.
Cardoso said he was not happy when he heard fans booing his players, who “work hard” for the club to succeed.
He sent a message to the Yellow Nation to support the team through both bad times and good times.
“We need to be supported, and I want to tell that today I saw something that I had never seen and I didn’t like,” said Cardoso.
“I didn’t like to see the players of Sundowns being booed on the warm-up. I think the Masadawana family needs to keep together every time. These players work a lot.
“They don’t deserve to enter a pitch, to make a warm-up in a match like this, and being booed or being asked to be substituted.”
