Cardoso Issues Bold Message To Sundowns Fans

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Miguel Cardoso has issued a bold message to the club’s supporters ahead of the last CAF Champions League group stage clash.

Masandawana drew 1-1 against FC Saint-Éloi Lupopo on Sunday afternoon in DR Congo, returning home with a point as they hope to make it to the next round.

Currently occupying third place in Group C with six points from five fixtures, the Brazilians find themselves in a “win-or-out” scenario.

Only a victory against MC Alger in their final group match next Saturday will be enough to keep their continental dreams alive.

Cardoso says they are hoping for a full house at Loftus Versfeld and need their supporters to support the team on the day “not nothing more”.

“The team will face this week with a lot of enthusiasm because we wanna do well, we wanna open a page ahead in the competition,” said Cardoso.

“And for that, we need to be strong, we need to be prepared and most of all, as we enter a locker room right now [on Sunday after the Lupopo match], we’re starting already the preparations of the next match.

“So, we need to go to rest, travel quickly, go home, receive the love of the loved ones we have at home.

“And then we hope that in the next match, we have a full stadium with only one thought, to support the team not support nothing more.

“I hope the opponents haven’t guessed or know how we’re going to play. I hope it’s controlled so that we can have a fair game on our side.”
