Cape Town City sign former Sundowns outcast

Cape Town City have officially signed former Mamelodi Sundowns defender Sifiso Ngobeni for the current campaign.

Ngobeni was recently released by Sundowns following the expiry of his contract with them.

He spent last season on loan at AmaZulu before being recalled only to be deemed surplus to requirements by Sundowns.

Ngobeni always had it tough at Sundowns since his move from Bloemfontein Celtic three years ago.

And for that reason, the 28-year-old left-footed player did not mind being loaned out on several occasions as he wanted regular game time.

Now, Durban City initially expressed interest in him following his departure from Chloorkop, but it’s Cape Town City who have now signed him.

The Citizens are also keeping an eye on former Kaizer Chiefs defender Njabulo Ngcobo who has started training with them.

City took to their social media platforms on Thursday to unveil Ngobeni as their newest signing.
