Campbell Scores in Club Brugge’s Big Cup Victory

Posted on October 30, 2025

The South African rising star Shandre Campbell made a significant impact, netting a goal as Club Brugge secured a big win in their midweek cup fixture.

The 20-year-old made a strong return to action after missing several first-team matches, particularly both in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League and the UEFA Champions League.

He was last on the pitch on 30 September when Brugge suffered a 2-1 defeat to the Italian club Atalanta.

Meanwhile, his previous appearance for the Belgian side was on 22 October in the UEFA Champions League clash, where they suffered a heavy 4-0 away defeat to Bundesliga powerhouse Bayern Munich. He was an unused substitute in that match.

The player was not included in the squad for the last league match, where Brugge managed to secure a narrow 1-0 away victory against Antwerp.

Earning minutes in the Belgian Cup Round of 16, the left-footer immediately paid off the faith shown in him, scoring the second goal in their 6-1 win over Eendracht Aast to advance.

Across all competitions this season, Campbell has rattled in two goals in the six matches he has played for Brugge.
