CAF Reveal CC Drawing Pots, Chiefs In For Tough Draw?

Posted on November 2, 2025

The Confederation of African Football [CAF] have announced the drawing pots for the Confederation Cup, with Kaizer Chiefs only in pot three and set for a tough group.

The teams have been seeded based on their performance in CAF interclub competitions over the past five seasons.

With Chiefs not featuring in any CAF competition since reaching the CAF Champions League final in 2021, their seeding is quite low, with Amakhosi only ranked in Pot 3.

Meanwhile, Stellenbosch FC who reached the CAF Confederation Cup semi-final last season, are ranked in Pot 2.

Both Premier Soccer League teams could face each other, and both will also get one of the heavy weights from Pot 1 – where Zamalek, Wydad AC, USM Alger and Sead Ramovic’s CR Belouizdad were placed.

  • Pot 1: Zamalek SC (EGY), Wydad AC (MAR), USM Alger (ALG), CR Belouizdad (ALG)
  • Pot 2: Stellenbosch FC (RSA), Al Masry SC (EGY), AS Maniema Union (RDC), Djoliba AC de Bamako (MLI)
  • Pot 3: Kaizer Chiefs FC (RSA), AS Otohô (CGO)
  • Pot 4: FC San Pedro (CIV), Nairobi United FC (KEN), Olympique Club de Safi (MAR), Azam FC (TAN), Singida Black Stars (TAN), Zesco United (ZAM)

The draw takes place at the SuperSport TV studios in Johannesburg at 13:00 on Monday.
