Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos is set to announce his final squad for the upcoming 2026 FIFA WC Qualifiers double header against Zimbabwe & Rwanda, on Thursday, October 2, on SABC 1 at 12pm.
Broos is expected to trim his 45-man preliminary squad to just under 25 as they look to claim maximum points in their remaining important fixtures which will seal their fate for World Cup qualification next year.

What Broos Said About Potential Points Deduction
South Africa was this week dealt a major blow after a points deduction by FIFA for ineligibly fielding Teboho Mokoena though he was suspended for the Lesotho clash which they won 2-0.
This has now seen Bafana slip into second place behind Benin though on equal points (14) with just a goal difference.
Bafana next face Zimbabwe at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Friday, 10 October, before concluding the qualifiers with a clash against Rwanda at Mbombela Stadium four days later.
Both matches kick off at 18h00.
