Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos has discussed his approach for handling the high-stakes occasion against rivals Nigeria.
The two giants of African football are set to face off in a crucial FIFA World Cup qualifier on Tuesday night at Free State Stadium, with both teams coming off weekend victories.
Bafana enter the match on a high after a convincing 3-0 win over Lesotho in Bloemfontein on Friday. On the other hand, Nigeria secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Rwanda.
The Super Eagles are particularly motivated, as they are in a precarious position and behold this match as a must-win to keep their World Cup qualification dreams alive.
Broos acknowledges that Nigeria are much stronger than their previous opponents, Lesotho.
The Belgian coach says they know where they will make tactical adjustments based on their recent game with Likuena. He also mentioned that he will select a team specifically suited to counter the Super Eagles.
“You know that Nigeria have much better team than that one of Lesotho that we played on Friday,” said Broos.
“So, we will have to take other majors and other tactical things than we did in the game of Lesotho.
“We will see the next days, and we will try to find the right team to beat Nigeria Tuesday.”
