Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos says winger Oswin Appollis should be fine after he was seen limping after the final whistle against Ghana on Tuesday.
Appollis was a half-time substitute and visibly livened up Bafana’s attack. However, he got a kick to his leg late in the game and was receiving treatment after the final whistle.
He was still limping during the national team’s official sent off after the match, but Broos has eased worries it could be a more serious injury.
“It’s not so bad,” he said on SABC2.
“He just got a kick on his leg, and maybe tomorrow he will have a little problem.
“But ok, it’s nothing major.”
Broos also reiterated his target of bettering the bronze medal from two years ago.
“I think we did it very well two years ago at AFCON, and I think we can’t be happy if we don’t come back with the same result. I think this year we have to go even more,” he stated.
“But this is the tournament that is very difficult, but I think we have the qualities to do it. We will try to bring gold.”
