Best Kaizer Chiefs XI aged 25 or younger

Posted on December 12, 2025

Kaizer Chiefs have opted to stock up on several experienced players in recent windows. However, there’s a good core of young players too at Naturena.

Best Kaizer Chiefs XI aged 25 or younger

Molefe; Monyane, McCarthy, Dortley, Cross; Shabalala, Vilakazi, Duba, Velebayi; Baartman, Ighodaro

The GLARING issue with this XI is that there are no holding or central midfielders.

There’s not a healthy mix of youth and experience in that portion of the pitch for Amakhosi.

Sibongiseni Mthethwa is 31, while Thabo Cele, on loan with an option to buy, is 28.

This hypothetical XI would give up a whole lot of chances and give its defenders a lot of work.

Amazingly, Nkosingiphile Ngcobo is now 26. How time flies.

Kaizer Chiefs’ squad looks top-heavy and lacking in quality

Kaizer Chiefs attackers Pule Mmodi, Wandile Duba and Ashley du Preez all have zero goals to their name this season to form a top-heavy attack that’s not delivering the goods.

New signings Etiosa Ighodaro and Khanyisa Mayo have one apiece across all competitions. And remember, Mayo is only at the club on loan.

At least Kaizer Chiefs have improved defensively, conceding only six goals to date in the league season, making theirs the second-most miserly defence in the country, with Orlando Pirates leading the way having conceded just five.

What’s next for Kaizer Chiefs?

The Glamour Boys have played two goalless draws on the bounce, against Chippa United and TS Galaxy.

They’ll have to wait until Tuesday, 20 January for their next Betway Premiership match, against Golden Arrows.
