Beganovic – We Don’t Produce Players For PSL
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

TS Galaxy head coach Adnan Beganovic says their vision at the club is to produce players to develop beyond the Premier Soccer League market.

Galaxy have become somewhat of a talent factory with a DNA and project that appears to be running on full steam, as they project another top half finish, whilst profiting in on their best talent being sold each season.

The likes of Bathusi Aubaas, Samukelo Kabini, Kamogelo Sebelebele, Given Msimango, Khulumani Ndamane have been signed and developed into full senior internationals whilst at the Rockets, with countless talents being snapped up by bigger clubs in recent seasons.

“We don’t choose to produce players just for the league, we try to produce for international market, especially for Europe – in the last three years, I’ve seen so many young talents, huge players, big talents that are not [getting chances], you need to get these players with proper plans, proper training sessions, proper vision for the future,” Beganovic said.

“Don’t look just short-sighted, [think of becoming] the next super talent in Europe, I truly believe in this, there’s so many beautiful talents in South Africa that just need proper work, adapt in one to three years. One example is Kabini, he’s gone to Molde, adapted in three, four months and now he’s playing, scoring and looking like a top player.

“There’s so many players that has the opportunity to do the same, maybe to have opportunities to go to better clubs, just it’s a main point, how we treat and work with players. When we talk about it, it’s easy for young players to recognise our work and how we’ve helped produce players for the national team, Kabini, Sebelebele, Ndamane and even Puso is on the list.”

Beganovic admits it’s now becoming a club where talented players are attracted to, given their recent success rate, as Ndamane, and Kabini for the prime example, arrived as free agents, being lured from the reserve teams of Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates respectively.

“Young players recognise TS Galaxy as a club who work hard with young players, give a stage and improve young players, which is very important for us. In the last few years so many of these talents came to us and want to stay because they believe we can improve them. Not only physically but tactically, mentally. And ability to reach a higher stage,” he added.

“We need to stay on thus course, follow our vision, we are clear – we don’t give up on this, our vision will out us where we belong, TS Galaxy wants to produce players and need to stay within the top eight clubs in the league.

“It’s not easy, it’s so tough, I know how much work has been done to reach this stage in the last three years, number six, five – now we will push more, if everything remains as it is now – we can stay in the top eight, it’s our goal this season.”
