Stellenbosch FC head coach Steve Barker says he wouldn’t mind facing Kaizer Chiefs in the CAF Confederation Cup group stages as they will travel less.
Stellies qualified for the CAFCC group stages for the second successive season after hammering Equatorial Guinean side 15 de Agosto 4-1 on Sunday.
With Chiefs also having qualified for the CAFCC group stages, there’s a chance that they might be in the same group with Stellenbosch, who reached the semi-final last season.
“Difficult one. In terms of traveling and knowing the opposition? Yes, I wouldn’t mind having them in our group, because that would mean one less travel,” Barker said when asked whether he’d like to face Amakhosi.
“So, in terms of that, I wouldn’t mind having them in the group to answer you directly.”
The CAFCC group stage draw will take place on 3 November in Johannesburg.
