Bafana & Zim Starting XIs Confirmed

Posted on December 29, 2025

Bafana Bafana and Zimbabwe confirmed their starting XIs for this evening AFCON last group stage encounter at the Grand Stade de Marrakech.

It’s a do-or-die clash between two Southern African sides as Bafana Bafana come to this game at the back of a 1-0 defeat against Egypt. Hugo Broos’ side however remain at three points which they collected in their first game against Angola beating them 2-1.

Meanwhile, Zimbabwe is yet to collect maximum points after a 2-1 defeat against Egypt in their opening game and a 1-1 draw against Angola in their second game.

Bafana will secure their spot in the last 16 should they win or draw the game and Angola fail to beat the Pharaohs. While Zimbabwe needs maximum points to keep their chances of qualifying high.

In the last five encounters, South Africa won three, and two games ended in a draw: this also includes a COSAFA game. This is the first time these two sides play in an AFCON tournament in the last 10 years.

Here is how they lineup:

Bafana Starting XI: Williams, Mudau, Ngezana, Mbokazi, Modiba, Sithole, Mokoena, Mbule, Appollis, Moremi, Foster
