Bafana Stars Make Impact Abroad

Posted on January 24, 2026

Bafana Bafana duo Lyle Foster and Mohau Nkota made impacts for Burnley and Al Ettifaq respectively in their league encounters on Saturday.

Foster, who scored two goals with two assists for Bafana Bafana at the recently concluded 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco has slowly been re-integrated into the Clarets squad.

He came off the bench to put Scott Parker’s side 2-1 ahead over Tottenham at Turf Moor after an excellent team build-up, which marked his third league goal this season. However, the eventually drew 2-2 and remaining 19th in the league, seven points from safety.

Meanwhile, Nkota, who was also part of the AFCON squad, bagged his third league assist, which has been couple by two goals in his first 13 games in the Saudi Pro League – since his off-season switch from Orlando Pirates.

The pacey winger set up Khalid Al-Ghannam in their 2-1 win over Al Kholood, which moved them into sixth place in the league, 15 points behind league leaders Al Hilal.

Both players will be aiming to continue their current trajectory with the next FIFA international week scheduled for March, which will serve as warm-up fixtures for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
