Are Kaizer Chiefs players finding life difficult without Nabi?

Kaizer Chiefs’ 2025/26 campaign has not gone according to plan despite a major squad overhaul before the start of the season.

Amakhosi brought in more than ten new players in a bid to restore their glory days, but the results on the field have yet to convince supporters.

The recent sacking of Tunisian coach Nasreddine Nabi has only added to the uncertainty surrounding the club. Chiefs had started the league season brightly, picking up several early wins that gave fans renewed hope. However, that momentum has quickly faded, with inconsistent performances and disappointing results becoming the new reality.

With Khalil Ben Yoiussef and Cedric Kaze having taken over, it remains to be seen if the team will find chemistry and tactical identity.

The Kaizer Chiefs management now faces mounting pressure to find stability and deliver results before the season slips further away.

Under Nabi, Amakhosi were in a rebuilding phase and finished ninth last season in the Betway Premiership.

Can Kaizer Chiefs turn the corner?

Both Kaze and Ben Youssef have been under Nasreddine Nabi since last season and in September, the duo were appointed to lead the team for the remainder of the 2025-26 season after Nabi’s departure.

Earlier this year, Ben Youssef mentioned that the goal was for Amakhosi to win the league title in the next two to three years. Having won the Nedbank Cup last season, Kaizer Chiefs have the CAF Confederations Cup to fight for this campaign.

Success in Africa could result in a decent season for the Glamour Boys. A strong run in Africa and in the Betway Premiership could help restore confidence and turn what has been a turbulent domestic season into a respectable one for Kaizer Chiefs.

Amakhosi are in action on Wednesday night against Siwelele at the FNB Stadium in a league match. The players have found life difficult without Nabi so far.

Which competition should Chiefs prioritise?
