Appollis On What Pirates Coach Told Them

Man of the Match Oswin Appollis says pressing was the name of the game as they ran out convincing 3-0 victors against Chippa United at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Sunday.

The Buccaneers scored twice in the first period through Patrick Maswanganyi and Deon Hotto before substitute Tshepang Moremi completed the rout in the second stanza.

It was a memorable afternoon for Appollis who provided a brace of assists as well as how they were instructed to press the Chilli Boys and not afford them room to breathe.

“First of all, I want to give credit for the team, the whole team. I think we came out here today for a victory and we got it. It wasn’t easy,” he told SuperSport TV.

“Second half we got our rhythm, and we managed to get more goals.

“Our coach told us that we need to press them. If we win the ball we are closer to goals.

“That’s what we did today.”
