Another Sundowns star off to Tanzania!

Mamelodi Sundowns star Neo Maema is on his way to Tanzania to join Simba SC on a season-long loan deal.

Maema, who is currently with Bafana Bafana for the CHAN tournament in East Africa, is expected to join Fadlu Davids there.

This is according to his agent Steve Kapeluschnik, who told SABC Sport that the deal is as good as done.

Maema, who joined Sundowns from Bloemfontein Celtic in 2021, had been used sparingly over the years.

And while he recently signed a contract extension with Sundowns, the technical team feels he could do better elsewhere.

Maema becomes the second Sundowns player to move to Tanzania after Rushine de Reuck who also joined Simba SC to reunite with former coach Davids.

“We have had several local offers for Neo in the local Betway Premiership – good offers for a good player,” said Kapeluschnik.

“But we’ve come to a loan agreement with Simba because that gives him the opportunity to play for a team that challenges for league titles and is also in the CAF inter-club competitions.”

“I can tell you that the deal is almost concluded, but of course, there is a bit of a delay with Neo who is part of the national team at the moment.

“He is the captain of the CHAN squad, and this is a proud moment for him to lead the team.”
