AmaZulu sign Bafana Bafana striker

Posted on September 2, 2025

AmaZulu FC have officially announced the signing of former Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates striker Thabiso Kutumela.

Kutumela arrives at Usuthu as a free agent following his departure from Richards Bay FC last season.

And while the future looked bleak for the 32-year-old attacker at some point, his exploits with Bafana Bafana at the recent CHAN tournament caught the eye of AmaZulu.

Usuthu, under the tutelage of Arthur Zwane then made a move for Kutumela who is a well-travelled experienced campaigner.

Speaking to the AmaZulu media team, Kutumela expressed delight at finally joining the Durban-based outfit.

Usuthu had previously shown interest in him while he was at Maritzburg United (now Durban City) before moving to Sundowns.

“I am so happy that this move has finally come about. This was not the first time AmaZulu showed interest in me,” confirmed Kutumela.

“I remember back when I was at Maritzburg United before joining Sundowns, they enquired about my services. It didn’t happen then, but I’m glad it has materialised now.

“My aim is to help the team win trophies and finish higher on the log than last season.

“In football, anything is possible, and every team has its objectives. Mine is to play my part in achieving them,” he concluded.

HOW MANY GOALS CAN KUTUMELA GIVE USUTHU THIS SEASON?
