Kaizer Chiefs have sent youngster Xolani Cossa out on loan to Botswana FNB Premiership side Black Lions.

Cossa will spend the current campaign plying his trade in Botswana, adding to the growing list of South African-born players in that league.

He was developed and nurtured at Naturena, and he featured prominently for their DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) team.

And this move is to allow Cossa to gain much needed experience at the highest level, and his progress will be monitored.

He adds to a growing list of South African-born players who are currently plying their trade in Botswana.

The one player currently taking the Botswana topflight by storm is none other Tefo Mofokeng who’s on the books of Muchudi Chiefs.

The young Mofokeng, on loan from Orlando Pirates, is on his second season with Chiefs.

KAIZER CHIEFS SEND XOLANI COSSA TO BLACK LIONS

Cossa, who is a 20-year-old attacker, will be working with a familiar face in coach Owen da Gama.

Da Gama is believed to have been instrumental in Black Lions securing the services of Cossa from Amakhosi.

The pair will hope for nothing but a successful first campaign and experience in Botswana.
