Amakhosi ready to unleash CAF trump card

Posted on October 14, 2025

The international break came at the right time for Kaizer Chiefs new signing Lebohang Maboe.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns star joined the Glamour Boys in a rather surprise move at the beginning of the season.

Maboe however is yet to make his debut for the Amakhosi. This however is set to change in the coming weeks!

New Kaizer Chiefs star set to make debut soon

Lebohang Maboe is set to finally make his debut for Kaizer Chiefs FC.

Maboe missed the opening quarter of the season due to fitness issues.

Now, according to the latest reports, the talented midfielder is nearing full fitness.

“Now, nearly two months since his arrival at the Glamour Boys, the versatile midfielder looks ready to make an impact and contribute to his boyhood club,” a KickOff report read.

Amakhosi banking on Maboe’s CAF experience

Kaizer Chiefs sporting director Kaizer Motaung Junior is hoping Maboe will help his side in the CAF Confederation Cup.

“We know Lebo is a quality player who has gained valuable experience in continental competitions over the past few years,” Motaung Jnr told the club’s official website.

“His expertise will be crucial for us in both the domestic league and the CAF Confederation Cup. We’re pleased to welcome him back to Kaizer Chiefs. He was here and knows the culture and what our supporters expect from our players.”

Next up for the Glamour Boys in the CAF Confederation Cup is a tricky second round preliminary clash against DR Congo’s FC Simba.

Cedric Kaze and Khalil Ben Youssef will be hoping Lebohang Maboe will be available for Kaizer Chiefs.
