Agent confirms Kaizer Chiefs was wanted abroad

Posted on November 2, 2025

Kaizer Chiefs youngster Wandile Duba could have possibly started to pack his bags for the Middle East.

The 21-year-old’s agent, Mike Makaab, has confirmed Duba was on the radar of an unnamed club in Saudi Arabia during the last window.

KAIZER CHIEFS STRIKER WANDILE DUBA REMAINS IN SOWETO

From the Chiefs’ DStv Diski Challenge setup to breaking into the senior team in January 2023, Duba has built a reputation as one of the club’s most exciting young attackers.

Last season, he scored five goals and added three assists in 25 matches under Nasreddine Nabi, the same campaign that ended with Kaizer Chiefs lifting the 2025 Nedbank Cup after that famous win over Orlando Pirates.

This term, things have been less simple. Competing with Khanyisa Mayo, Etiosa Ighodaro, Flavio Silva, and Ashley Du Preez for game time, Duba featured eight times without finding the back of the net. Still, those around Naturena know he’s never far from making an impact when it matters.

Remember his cryptic message about his Amakhosi future?

MIKE MAKAAB SPEAKS

Mike Makaab of Prosport International lift the lid on what was happening behind the scenes. “Yes, there was interest in Wandile Duba from Saudi Arabia, but the move didn’t materialise, he’s still with Kaizer Chiefs,” Makaab told FARPost.

In the meantime, Duba could return to action when Amakhosi host Orbit College at the FNB Stadium on Wednesday at 19:30 in the Betway Premiership.
