Kaizer Chiefs supporters have enjoyed a good laugh at the expense of Orlando Pirates.

Mohau Nkota’s Saudi Arabian club Al Ettifaq posted the 21-year-old winger wearing the bitter enemy’s jersey.

According to reports, the shirt was a gift from Nkota’s close friend and Amakhosi winger Mfundo Vilakazi.

MOHAU NKOTA AT AL ETTIFAQ THIS SEASON

Meanwhile Nkota is still in his first season in the Saudi Pro League after joining from the Buccaneers in July 2025 for a reported fee of £1.575 million (R36 million).

His three-year contract, which runs until June 2028, includes a 15% sell-on clause for Orlando Pirates and a weekly salary estimated at R398,000.

Nkota has made 18 league appearances this season. He has completed 275 passes with an 81% passing accuracy, while also creating 15 scoring chances, including four that were classified as big chances. Defensively, he has also contributed, winning 61% of his 16 attempted tackles and adding 15 clearances to his overall work rate.

Despite a period of limited game time in early 2026, he has continued to offer value in possession and in transition. He has recorded a 31.2% success rate in crosses, along with 13 total shots and a 23% shot accuracy, showing both involvement and intent in the attacking phase.

A recent example of his contribution came in the 3-2 victory over Al Qadsiah on 5 April 2026, where he played 88 minutes. In that match, he registered 21 touches and created one scoring chance, reflecting his steady involvement even when not directly on the scoresheet.
