Posted on August 20, 2025

The PSL has released opening weekend fixtures for the 2025/26 Motsepe Foundation Championship set to get underway this coming weekend.

Newcomers Gomora United take on Leicesterford City, formerly JDR Stars, on Friday, 22 August at 15:00 while Highbury FC go head-to-head against the University of Pretoria at the same time.

On Saturday, 23 August, it’s a jam-packed afternoon with all the matches playing at 15:00 as Black Leopards entertain Casric Stars and former Betway Premiership campaigners Cape Town City are at home against Venda FC.

Milford FC welcome Lerumo Lions, who were relegated to the amateur ranks at the end of last season but have since secured Pretoria Callies’ MFC status.

The last fixture of the day will be between Upington City and Kruger United.

There are two fixtures on Sunday, 24 August, with Midlands Wanderers playing hosts to Hungry Lions and Baroka FC take the trip to The Bees FC.
