10 transfer decisions made Orlando Pirates

Posted on January 30, 2026

Orlando Pirates have been busy reshaping their squad this January, making decisions on the departures of players like Olisa Ndah and Monnapule Saleng.

The entry gate has seen new arrivals such as Mpho Chabatsane from Marumo Gallants as a direct replacement for Chicago Fire’s new defender Mbekezeli Mbokazi.

SEVEN PLAYERS DEPART ORLANDO PIRATES

Olisa Ndah, free agent: A major shock. Ndah departs after 81 appearances since joining from Akwa United in 2021, ending a memorable chapter.

Mbekezeli Mbokazi, Chicago Fire: A generational talent who left just nine months after starting his professional career.

Monnapule Saleng, Mamelodi Sundowns: The blockbuster move. Saleng’s switch to Sundowns has stunned the Orlando Pirates fanbase.

Tshegofatso Mabasa, loaned to Stellenbosch FC: A fresh start for Mabasa after coach Abdeslam Ouaddou, similarly to Jose Riveiro, preferred high-running strikers to press from the front.

Sinoxolo Kwayiba, Chippa United: He returns home to Gqeberha after failing to break into the Orlando Pirates team.

Sifiso Luthuli, loan to Magesi FC: A developmental loan aimed at gaining Betway Premiership experience after several seasons in the DSTV Diski Challenge and ABC Motsepe.

Siyabonga Ndlozi, loan to Magesi FC: Another inexperienced star in search of Betway Premiership minutes.

THREE PLAYERS ARRIVE AT THE RAND STADIUM

Andre De Jong, from Stellenbosch FC: A proven attacker in the Betway Premiership, brought in to add directness and high pressing.

Daniel Msendami, from Marumo Gallants: An exciting added option on the wings with an eye for goal.

Mpho Chabatsane, from Marumo Gallants: Orlando Pirates’ direct replacement for Mbekezeli Mbokazi.
